During this appointment, we'll take impressions of your teeth to create models. These models are important for facilitating treatment and monitoring progress. We'll also take photographs and X-rays to help the doctor decide where to move each upper and lower tooth. Separators may also be placed to create space for the fitting of stainless steel bands or appliance crowns. Separators are typically worn for a week or longer if needed. This appointment usually lasts 30 minutes. In some cases, appliance crowns or stainless steel bands may not be necessary for treatment, which means we can place your braces the same day.
Depending on your treatment plan, at this appointment, we’ll place your braces and/or fit bands or appliance crowns. We’ll also provide hygiene instructions to help you care for your new braces. This appointment may last 50 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
This appointment is necessary if one or more appliances are required for your treatment. Typically, this appointment lasts 20 to 50 minutes, depending on what appliance is being placed. We’ll also provide hygiene instructions to help you care for your new appliance.
