Types of Appointments

First Visit

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. During this complimentary visit, we'll help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We'll take X-rays and photographs that will help your doctor develop the appropriate treatment plan to address your orthodontic concerns.

We insist that our patients leave this visit with a clear understanding of their specific needs; what the treatment will involve; how long it will take; and how much it will cost. (If you have orthodontic insurance, we'll confirm benefits and bill the company for services.)

We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs, including:

  • Discounts for payment in full and for multiple family members in treatment
  • No down payment and zero interest monthly payment plans
  • Outside financing through iQ Credit Union (no down payment required)

When you decide to begin treatment, we'll schedule the following appointments:

Records Appointment

During this appointment, we'll take impressions of your teeth to create models. These models are important for facilitating treatment and monitoring progress. We'll also take photographs and X-rays to help your doctor decide where to move each upper and lower tooth.

Separators may also be placed to create space for the fitting of stainless steel bands or appliance crowns. Separators are typically worn for a week, or longer if needed. This appointment typically lasts 30 minutes. In some cases, appliance crowns or stainless steel bands may not be necessary for treatment, which means we can place your braces the same day.

Braces Placement

Depending on your treatment plan, at this appointment, we’ll place your braces and/or fit bands or appliance crowns. We’ll also provide hygiene instructions to help you care for your new braces. This appointment may last 50 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Appliance Placement

This appointment is necessary if one or more appliances are required for your treatment. Typically, this appointment lasts 20 to 50 minutes, depending on what appliance is being placed. We’ll also provide hygiene instructions to help you care for your new appliance.
